MECAL offers engineering services on a range of competences related to vision and image technology and optical design engineering.

Areas of excellences are:

Lens design engineering, both spheric and aspeheric, made of various materials, custom made lenses fit for specific purposes. We combine simulations with optical principles and evaluate existing design and propose new designs.
System design of the full image and optics train: camera technology, basic optical components (lenses, mirrors, prisms, light sources), image capture (hardware and software), and tolerances specifications.
Image pattern recognition. We design and implement fault detection algorithms with the images captured by the optical systems. These are customised to the items that are inspected in your process flow, the application is configured with your input and thoroughly tested.
System integration and industrialization. The optical system and the inspection module can be integrated by us into your industrial processes or products. Our know-how extends to making the design ready for industrialisation, liaising with lens manufacturers, hardware and software suppliers. We will work with your technology partners or might propose our own partners to participate in industrialization projects.
