Loads Engineer Wind Turbine Design

Responsibilities

  • Calculate component loads based on load cases defined in IEC/GL guidelines.
  • Interact with the wind components team to finalize loads for component design.
  • Implement strategy to mitigate loads and optimize turbine power performance.
  • Prepare detailed part specification and loads certification reports.
  • Work with the validation/tools development engineers to validate the predicted loads with measurement data and to improve the simulation capabilities.
  • Perform loads simulations for Multi MW Wind Turbine configurations with Bladed or Flex software.

Requirements

  • Educational requirement is an engineering degree (B.Sc or M.Sc).
  • You have good knowledge of the languages relevant for MECAL, particularly English.
  • Knowledge and experience in calculation of loads at wind turbines, preferably offshore.

Profile

  • Knowledge of the wind energy industry is an advantage.
  • You convincingly present your results and clarify your work.
  • You feel well at home in a team, know the different phases of a project and can adapt to these phases, but you are also able to perform independently.
