NEWS Haizhuang Windpower, cooperation agreement with MECAL
CSIC (Chongqing) Haizhuang Windpower Equipment Co., Ltd. (Haizhuang Windpower) has actively been seeking foreign partners to further step up technological and R&D strengths and promote the implementation of its global marketing strategy. Haizhuang Windpower has recently reached a consensus on cooperation with MECAL from Holland. Both parties have concluded an agreement on international technological cooperation, a firm step of historical importance for the wind power equipment maker to go global.
On January 13, Mr. Yu Shaoqing, General Manager of Haizhuang Windpower, and Mr. Willem Kortekaas, President of MECAL Asia Region, signed the cooperation agreement, witnessed by officials from relevant government departments including Chongqing Science & Technology Commission and Chongqing Economic Commission, and leaders of both companies. Mr. Yang Benxin, Chairman of Haizhuang Windpower, and Mr. Anton de Roest, President of MECAL B.V., addressed the signing ceremony in succession.
In recent years, Haizhuang Windpower has marched into the new energy industry relying on the technological and manufacturing strength of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), the parent. To date, it has successfully developed and launched the 2MW and 850kW wind power generator sets with independent intellectual property rights. The wind power equipment maker has actively cooperated with world-renowned design companies to develop wind power generators with greater capacity and more advanced technologies, instructed by CSIC, supported by relevant departments and commissions of Chongqing government and guided by the Chinese wind power industry development program. MECAL, the new partner to Haizhuang Windpower, boasts powerful technical strength with more than 100 professional engineers. It has long devoted itself to providing global customers with semiconductor and wind power services and gained more than 20 years’ professional experience in the wind power generation sector.
The partnership between both parties has come as a successful cooperation after the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference. Both parties have reached multiple consensuses on technical cooperation and exchange, talent training and other matters, jointly committed to the research and development of internationally advanced wind power technologies. The current partnership is an important move of Haizhuang Windpower to build itself into an RMB10-billion-grade wind power equipment production base and edge into the top three wind power equipment makers in China. It is also a necessary requirement to implement the strategy of going global and participating in international cooperation, and serves as a milestone in the history of the company.
